Student Council

The Student Council, under the guidance of our teachers, empowers our student leaders to work with the faculty and staff to develop programs and activities that improve the school and student life and engage our students in charitable efforts that help people in the community. The Student Council leads the school in the following:

• community service projects
• parish/school service projects
• social gatherings of the student body
• School Spirit Days.

Student Council members are required to attend monthly planning meetings. These meetings are held before school from 8 – 8:30 a.m.

Student Council Offices

• President — Runs all Student Council meetings. Must be in 7th or 8th grade and have at least one prior year of Student Council experience.
• Vice-President — Helps the President; steps in and runs meetings if the President is not available. You must be in 7th or 8th grade in order to run for this position.
• Secretary — Takes minutes at all meetings; helps with organization and paperwork. Needs to have neat handwriting, good listening skills and be good at note taking. Must be in 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th grade to run for this position.
• Treasurer – Counts and documents all Student Council funds. Must be good at math/money skills. Needs to be in 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th grade.
• Spirit Officers (2) — The voice of the Student Council. Announce any upcoming Student Council news. Needs to be outgoing and able to motivate others. Must be able to speak in front of the whole school. Needs to have great school spirit. Must be in 5th or 6th grade.
• Class Representatives (2) — Voices for their homeroom. Need to be great at communicating with others. Inform their class about what is taking place with Student Council. Must bring ideas of classmates to monthly meetings to be voted on (such as service project ideas). For 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.
